The short version
Your family's universe — every quest, drawing, photo, voice note, and memory — is stored in your family's own iCloud, under Apple's encryption, counted against your own iCloud storage. Yent Industries does not hold your child's data on its servers. We could not read your family's archive if we wanted to. That is not a policy we promise to follow; it is how the product is built.
What we collect — and what we never do
From children: nothing is collected by Yent. A child's responses, drawings, and activity live only in the family's iCloud and on the family's devices. They are never transmitted to Yent servers, never used for advertising, and never shared with anyone outside the family circle the guardian approved.
From adults: when subscriptions launch, Apple processes all payments (we never see card numbers), and Yent keeps only the minimum account and subscription records needed to operate — the adult's records, never the child's. If you send us feedback, we receive what you wrote.

- No selling or sharing of personal information, ever.
- No public profiles, no open chat, no contact with strangers.
Where the data lives, and for how long
Our retention policy is short because our retention is short: the archive belongs to the family, in the family's iCloud, for as long as the family chooses to keep it. Yent retains no copy. If a guardian revokes consent or a family leaves, there is nothing for us to delete on our side except the adult's account records — which we delete on request.
Security
Family data is protected by Apple's iCloud encryption, at rest and in transit. The small services Yent runs (this website, and later the suggestion service) are stateless: they store no child data and log no child identifiers.
AI suggestions, honestly described
When live quest suggestions launch, the request sent to our suggestion service will carry only de-identified context: an age band, topic interests as plain words, and which quests to avoid repeating — never a name, never a child's own words or work. Nothing about the request is stored.
Children, parents, and your rights
Ex-Orbita is built for use by families with children, including children under 13, so we hold ourselves to COPPA's standard for verifiable parental consent. A parent or legal guardian approves a child's participation before anything reaches that child, can see everything sent, and can act at any time. The full plain-language disclosure lives on our For guardians page. A guardian may always:
- Review everything sent to their child, at any time;
- Revoke consent at any moment — including by simple text message — which immediately stops anything further from reaching the child;
- Export the family's archive in full;
- Delete — the archive is in the family's own iCloud, so deletion is genuinely in the family's hands, not a request we might honor slowly.
Third parties
There are none in the child's experience. Apple provides the platform, iCloud storage, and payment processing under its own privacy commitments. We use no data brokers, no ad networks, no third-party analytics SDKs.
